Dear MSU family,
MorningStar University is not first a building, a program, or a schedule. It is a people being formed before the Lord—a community gathered around one desire: to know Jesus, love His Word, and follow Him wherever He leads.
MSU must never lose the simplicity of first love. Jesus must remain the center of our worship, our learning, our leadership, our friendships, and our future. If we grow in skill but lose tenderness before Him, we have missed the point. If we grow in gifting but not in love, we have not yet understood the way of Christ.
The Lord is building roots in us beneath the surface before fruit appears above it. He is teaching us to abide before we lead, to listen before we speak, and to serve before we are entrusted with influence. We must let Him do the deep work and refuse to rush the process of formation.
MSU is called to be a place where Jesus is loved deeply, the Word of God is treasured, the Holy Spirit is welcomed, and young leaders are formed with purity, courage, humility, and fire. We must keep our hearts burning, and everything we build here must be for Him.
If you have been looking at MSU and wondering whether this could be the place for you, I want to encourage you with this: the Lord can use one surrendered season to mark the rest of your life.
I first came to MorningStar University as a student. What changed me was not a program by itself, or classes alone, or simply being in a school environment. What changed my life was encountering Jesus—through His Word, through His presence, through prayer, worship, community, and the quiet work of the Holy Spirit in my heart.
That is what MSU is about. We are not inviting you merely to attend a university; we are inviting you to give God room to form you. If you come with a hungry and surrendered heart, I believe the Lord will meet you, strengthen you, and build foundations in you that will carry you for the rest of your life.
You do not need to have every answer before you take the next step. Come ready to seek Him. Come ready to be rooted in His Word. Come ready to grow in grace, love, and the power of the Holy Spirit. God Himself is the One who changes lives, and our desire is to make room for Him to do exactly that.
My prayer for every student who comes to MSU is that they would be deeply grounded in the love of the Father and come to know, not just in theory but in truth, that they are children of God. I pray this would be a place where confusion gives way to clarity, where insecurity gives way to identity, and where striving gives way to peace in Christ.
I pray that students would be cared for here—spiritually, personally, and lovingly—as they grow through every season of this journey. That they would be strengthened when they feel weak, encouraged when they feel uncertain, challenged when they need to grow, and reminded again and again of who they are in the Lord. My desire is not simply that students succeed outwardly, but that they be formed deeply, healed where needed, anchored in truth, and drawn into a genuine life with Jesus.
I pray that MSU would be a place of real formation, wise guidance, loving correction, and faithful discipleship. A place where students are seen, known, supported, and called higher with grace and truth. And above all, I pray that they would leave this place with hearts that love Jesus more, lives that reflect His character more clearly, and a deep confidence that they belong to Him.
