The MSU Special Forces (SF) Program is a mission-focused training environment designed to form students in spirit, soul, and body, not for challenge as an end in itself, but for faithful obedience to Jesus Christ and effective Gospel ministry in real-world contexts.
SF exists to form disciples who carry the Gospel with clarity, serve with compassion, lead with integrity, and remain faithful under pressure. The program is built on the conviction that the mission of God begins in the heart, and from that place, God sends people into the world.
SF integrates Scripture-centered teaching, applied formation, field-based team development, community and campus outreach, disaster relief opportunities as available through trusted partners, and guest speakers who serve actively in missions and crisis response.
Servant-leadership expressed through humility, honor, and responsibility
Gospel communication marked by clarity, courage, and compassion
Team-based ministry marked by integrity, discipline, and emotional resilience
Special Forces (SF) exists to form disciples of Jesus Christ for the mission of God, grounded in Scripture, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and trained to serve with courage, humility, resilience, and excellence in real-world ministry contexts.
Students participate in purpose-driven challenge trips that develop leadership capacity, team cohesion, resilience, and disciplined execution. These trips function as structured “outside classroom” environments in which training goals are applied under real conditions.
Students participate in community and campus outreach settings that develop Gospel confidence, ministry competence, and compassionate engagement with real people in real environments.
When available, students may serve alongside vetted partners in disaster and crisis response contexts. These opportunities emphasize servant leadership, practical readiness, and wise ministry under pressure.
SF hosts missionaries and practitioners in the field, in person and via live video, to provide current perspective and lived experience that reinforces the program’s formation goals.
SF is designed as an applied training environment in which students learn through both instruction and practice.
